Beyond belief, is this fact or fiction?

That is the big question to arise from the mysterious standalone ’01′ phone website which has popped up from nowhere today showing a futuristic iPhone-esque device with a countdown clock. No manufacturer hints, no data, zip.

Of course from simple observation what we can see is a touchscreen handset with a finger friendly interface similar to that of mobile OS X, a scaling web browser, 3G connectivity (spot the giveaway front facing camera), a memory expansion slot and – most radically – a horizontal sliding action which reveals a laser to cast a virtual keypad with standard Qwerty layout.

Interestingly, while no further specifications have been revealed, T3.com claims the 01 will come with 32GB of memory and a five megapixel camera.

That said, anyone notice something fishy about T3 having this additional data and the T3 website being the site shown on the handset’s display.

I guess we’ll all know within 29 days, 5 hours, 11 minutes, 20 seconds and counting…

Yes, that USB Power Adapter. The impossibly small one that we all shook our heads at and couldn’t believe. Well, its got a recall.

It seems the 2 metal prongs may detach off from the rest of the adapter unit if excessive force is applied to it while inserting/removing it from the power socket.

According to Apple you can exchange it in stores on October 10th or you can order a replacement online.

Using simple tilt controls, players direct a cellular-level organism through some dangerous primordial muck, gobbling up small creatures and avoiding soon-to-be dead-enders a little bit ahead in the prehistoric food chain.

To finish a stage, you must fill up your DNA strand at the top of the screen. Eating tiny organisms boosts the meter. Getting slammed by bigger creatures empties the meter. You can really juice the meter by swallowing itty-bitties in rapid succession. Since the tiny celled creatures often travel in packs, you can bounce between swimmers like a pinball and ratchet up your combo bonus.

Not really the kind of game for us here at iWorld. Well, nothing against Electronic Arts, they reign supreme when it comes to handheld games. Think PSP, think EA. Let’s put it this way – there are some noteworthy games from the App Store thus far, but Spore : Origin is just not one of them.

Pangea Software, the maker of Cro-Mac Rally as well as the Enigmo game for the iPhone & iPhone 3G released a shoot-em-up style of game a couple of days ago at an introductory price of $2.99. It has since reverted back to $5.99.

Although the graphics are very impressive, very smooth rendering with almost no lag time in between frames, the game is a little ‘short’ to command an asking price pf $5.99. Of course, at the previous pricing of $2.99, that would have amounted to an impulse buy (which yours truly did).

But like I said, even though the game came with 4 Game Modes (Stampede, Duel, Shootout & Target Practice), with 2 missions in all (Swamp & Town), they are a little short with not much of a story line and too repetitive gameplay (Swamp & Town has the EXACT SAME SCENARIO…can you believe this?!)

All in all, worthy but not necessary.
