The latest iPhone OS 3.1.3 from Apple, Pwned.

The iPhone Dev-Team has announced that the iPhone 2G, 3G, and iPod touch 1G can be jailbroken on iPhone OS 3.1.3 already.
Thanks to daring experimenters in the comments, we can confirm that yesterday’s redsn0w works for today’s 3.1.3 update for iPhone 2G. Just point it at the 3.1.2 iPhone 2G IPSW after doing update or restore to 3.1.3.
…
Can confirm that this method works for iPhone 3G and iPod touch 1G too. Don’t do it for iPhone 3G if you need an unlock though (really, don’t!). For older iPod touch 2G, we’ll need a small (1-character) change in redsn0w source.WARNING: Don’t go near this if you have 3GS, newer ipt2G, or any ipt3G
So basically the update is safe for those with an iPhone 2G and iPod touch 1G. Those with an iPhone 3G (who don’t care about unlock) can update as well.

Apple releases iPhone OS 3.1.3 Firmware Update

The iPhone OS 3.1.3 is now live. Default factory unlocked iPhone 3GS/3G users could update without any issues, just as before. For the rest of you modified iPhone 3GS/3G users, if you value your present jailbroken or software unlocked status, please do not upgrade until further notice by the iPhone Dev Team.
This update for iPhone and iPod touch contains bug fixes and improvements, including the following:
• Improves accuracy of reported battery level on iPhone 3GS
• Resolves issue where third-party apps would not launch in some instances
• Fixes bug that may cause an app to crash when using the Japanese Kana keyboard
[iWorld Advisory] The above post is a general advisory for all iPhone users. Specifically, iWorld clients are free to update to the latest iPhone OS 3.1.3 on your factory unlocked sets without any complications.

What I found on YouTube today – Ghost’n Zombies!
Briefly: In Ghosts’n Zombies, you play as a bushy-eyebrowed, cigar-smoking, shotgun-toting monk who apparently was dispatched from the Vatican to investigate a mysterious haunted chapel.
Upon your arrival, you discover the church is absolutely loaded with rats, ghosts, zombies, and other demons. So, as an agent of the Vatican, what do you? You kill them, and amen to that!

Photos of iPhone 4G and its production name of N89

Engadget released a leaked photo of an in-production device purported to be the next generation iPhone 4G. It appears that the iPhone in the photo is a prototype of one of the handsets due to hit the market in about five months.
Cosmetically, the iPhone in the photo appears without its iconic aluminum bezel. Instead, the device is surrounded by a black plastic of aluminum material. Either that, or the handset is wrapped 80 percent of the way in a rubberized protective holder like the iPad prototype it rests on top of, though the quality of the image leaves this assertion to considerable debate.

AppleInsider suggests the white-ish blotch immediately to the left of the earpiece grill could suggest a camera lens (possibly iChat?), though it could also be just a reflection.
A new version of the iPhone is expected around July this year.

Menwhile, in related news, Engadget’s “extremely knowledgeable and trusted sources” have found a set of folders dedicated to specific models of iPhone OS devices within the OS 3.2 platform simulator.
One of these folders is for the N89 which is reportedly the codename for the next generation iPhone. There is also a folder for the K48 which was rumored earlier to be the codename of the iPad.
Previous versions of the iPhone were named the M68, N82, and N88.
