Apple’s new Mighty Mouse may come with a different name due to a trademark battle that it lost this week.

According to AppleInsider, Man & Machine announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded their company the trademark registration this week.

The company had sued both Apple and CBS for use of the ‘Mighty Mouse’ name, the same name it used for its own mice.

“Others have used the name Mighty Mouse for their computer mice and have sought registration of that trademark, but now the United States government has spoken,” Broumand said. “We look forward to the continuation and expansion of the Mighty Mouse line of waterproof mice.”

Man & Machine’s Mighty Mouse is a dishwasher-safe product that can be easily cleaned to help prevent infectious diseases.

Meanwhile, Apple is also rumored to be releasing a multi-touch mouse and dropping the white plastic finish to make way for an all new aluminum facade which matches Apple’s current line of computers.
