BlackRa1n Jailbreak Tool is now LIVE!

Barely less than a few hours ago we brought you an update on GeoHot’s much anticipated BlackRa1n jailbreak tool usable across all devices up till the latest iPhone OS 3.1.2.

Now, the BlackRa1n jailbreaking tool is officially live!

A BIG thank you to iClarified as usual for the wonderful tutorial.

[Warning] The BlackRa1n jailbreak will work with the latest 3.1.2 firmware. However, it will not hacktivate your iPhone. This means that if you are not on an official Apple approved carrier BlackRa1n cannot activate it.

    Can I ask something? Cause I’m new …. what about if Apple release new firmware already, can I still upgrade it ? Or once I upgrade it, everything inside my Iphone will gone and reset ??? Please advice … Thank you

    Are iPhones brought by Maxis factory unlocked? Do I update my iPhone to OS 3.1.2 first then only JB it using BlackRa1n? I’m just scared I might brick my iPhone.

    Gaemon/Maher: You’re already using a Maxis simcard, and that being an official Apple approved carrier, your unit is safe.

    Yes, upgrade then jailbreak.

    Jimmy: Sorry, but I don’t understand your question. As with any firmware update, you are advised to backup the iPhone to iTunes first, before updating/restoring the firmware as everything in the phone would be reset to factory default.

    thank u so much for ur reply, then does everything can be backup to ITunes ?? I mean everything including contacts, message, pictures, music of course, and etc …. Everything … possible ?? before I update my new firmware …

    Jimmy: Yes, everything would be backed up. Please read the user guide as provided by Apple because everything you need to know is in there.
