[Q3 2010] Apple to launch new ‘Worldmode’ iPhone

Apple will launch a new ‘Worldmode’ iPhone in July next year (Q3 2010) with a smaller 2.8″ multi-touch screen.
Citing sources in the Taiwan handset supply chain, AppleInsider published a report by OTR Global claiming that Apple has contracted Asustek subsidiary Pegatron to build a new hybrid phone which will work will all global handset carriers whether UMTS or CDMA.

Apparently the phone will gain compatibility with CDMA2000 networks (including Verizon) while still keeping compatibility with UMTS 3G networks using a new hybrid chip produced by Qualcomm.
Would this new model sit well with users who are already accustomed to the present 3.5 inch iPhone screen is a point of contention and also a matter of preference as well. Let’s wait it out and see…
