Pictures of Google Phone surfaces online

Category: iPhone & Co.

Previously, according to TechCrunch, Google is preparing to release a Google branded mobile device in the near future.

We have absolutely confirmed: Google is building their own branded phone that they’ll sell directly and through retailers. They were long planning to have the phone be available by the holidays, but it has now slipped to early January 2010. The phone will be produced by a major phone manufacturer but will only have Google branding (Microsoft did the same thing with their first Zunes, which were built by Toshiba).

Now, some pictures of the heavily rumored but yet to be released device has make its way to the intersphere.

The Google Phone was recently handed out to select Google employees for trial testing & debugging purposes. It is made by HTC and called the Nexus One.

It is rumored to be a GSM phone running the Android 2.1 OS and features a Snapdragon processor, an OLED touchscreen, dual mics for noise cancellation, and voice-to-text capabilities.

Apparently the device will be sold by Google online and since it is fully unlocked, it can be used on the respective carrier of your choice.
