on ur site its stated the iphone india is so costly.. but in msia is even more costly.. india its 36000 rupees for 16gb.. tats is rm3200 but here its rm3699 for 16gb.. how is tat

  11. Reno August 27th, 2008 1:57 AM

Hi Van Dust, we were referring to the telco launch pricing over in India. It is considered high when compared to AT&T and the rest during the initial July 11th launch.

Furthermore, you still have to factor in the cost of the contract plan in India before you could snag an iPhone 3G.

Our price here at iWorld is one of the most competitive around amongst resellers, and there’s no other hidden costs.

    Thank you.

    hi,
rm4000 for 16gb is a bit too expensive, will the price be reduce? really am interested with it.

  16. Kevin TC September 25th, 2008 9:44 PM

    Hi Reno,
I think there are many of us here want to know the answers to “Deadly Longing for iPhone”’s questions. Why can’t you post the answers here rather than individual email?

Anyway, my questions are the same 1-5 except 5) I’m using Celcom.

    //Cheers

  17. Reno September 26th, 2008 8:45 PM

Hi EAK : The price for the iPhone 3G (16GB) Black 100% Telco Unlocked set has just been revised earlier today to RM3699/set.

    Cheers!
    Reno

  18. Reno September 26th, 2008 8:57 PM

Hi Kevin : So sorry on that, sometimes I get so many emails (we are an eCommerce company) via 5-6 of our email account channels that I tend to reply longer queries via emails. Especially so if the question/query could only benefit the particular user on a more personal level.

Nevertheless, please find the following replies to the above commenter’s queries :

    1. How much would a black 16GB iPhone 3G costs?
    - Price was revised earlier today from RM3999 to RM3699, a few Glossy Black sets left within our inventory. Please note that this is the exclusive and premium 100% telco unlocked units which is a better option that US spec sets.

    2. How long does it take for me to get my hands on one upon ordering? And does shipping costs?- Simple, place your order latest by/before 2pm, give us enough time to bubblewrap the order plus invoice it. Order ships at 4pm the same day. Reaches the recipient the next morning. Less than 24 hours, to be exact! And best of all, delivery via ABX Express courier (www.abxexpress.com.my) is free as part of iWorld’s ongoing promotional initiative.

    3. Does ā€œunlockā€ means jailbreak?
    - Nope, far from it. Jailbreak is to enable to iPhone 3G internal system to “accept” external 3rd party applications. Unlock is to access & modify the iPhone 3G’s internal baseband in order to enable it to accept any simcard from any country for purposes of using telco related activities (ie call, sms, 3G data, etc).

    - Please note that at this moment in time, only 100% telco unlocked sets from iWorld are able to do ALL of the above, without the risk of the iPhone 3G relocking back … which obviously it would not, as it is already 100% telco unlocked, PERMANENTLY!)

    4. How far does the warranty goes? Does Apple provide the warranty?
    - Yup, full warranty from Apple as it is an authorised Telco-Unlocked set. Here at iWorld, we provide unlimited troubleshooting support as well. Peace. Of. Mind. :)

    5. I’m from KL Malaysia, and my phone plan’s with Maxis. Will there be any problem with the telco?
    - Telco unlocked simply means : any sim, any country. Anywhere in the whole wide world! No worries even if its Maxis, DiGi, Celcom, Telkomsel (Indonesia), etc etc.

Thank you and have a nice day!

  20. iWant iPhone October 2nd, 2008 12:55 PM

    Hi,
    1. In EU, Orange & T-Mobile are selling original Apple unlocked iPhone 3G. In your ad says “100% Apple unlocked”, are you saying it’s original unlocked or you through some kind of method, unlocked them using software or hardware?
    2. Where are your iPhone 3G stocks originated from? From EU?
    3. How can we know it’s an authrosised telco-unlocked set?
    3. Here it says, “Survive all firmware updates via iTunes”, but in another website it said “never update/restore firmware via iTunes”. Which one is telling the truth?
    4. I assume “it’s ok to update via iTunes”, what if the phone was locked after i’ve made an update, is iWorld going to take all responsibility?

Hope you could answer, cause i think RM3700 is not cheap. Thanks!

  21. Reno October 3rd, 2008 4:30 PM

This is in reply to Geooorgie of iWant iPhone :

    Hi!

Please find the following reply to your query :

    1. In EU, Orange & T-Mobile are selling original Apple unlocked iPhone 3G. In your ad says ā€œ100% Apple unlockedā€, are you saying it’s original unlocked or you through some kind of method, unlocked them using software or hardware?

    - Well, it is exactly as advertised – 100% Apple unlocked. Take our words EXACTLY AS IT IS as we do not misrepresent our products, although I can understand your initial doubt as there are a lot of retailers out there that are trying to pull a fast one. But not us, and definitely not iWorld!

    2. Where are your iPhone 3G stocks originated from? From EU?

    - This is a trade secret, suffice to say its 100% telco unlocked and that info is sufficient for a public domain like this.

    3. How can we know it’s an authrosised telco-unlocked set?

    - Simply because there are at present no software that could unlock an iPhone 3G. A TurboSIM is a hardware based sim adapter and would not count (anyway, sim adapter type of unlock is a temporary solution to the iPhone 3G, with a myriad of issues that came along with it)

    4. Here it says, ā€œSurvive all firmware updates via iTunesā€, but in another website it said ā€œnever update/restore firmware via iTunesā€. Which one is telling the truth?

    - The restriction on update and restore applies solely to our first gen iPhone users, as well as users who bought the iPhone 3G that requires a turbosim in order to unlock the call & sms features. It is not applicable to telco unlocked sets.

    5. I assume ā€œit’s ok to update via iTunesā€, what if the phone was locked after i’ve made an update, is iWorld going to take all responsibility?

    - You seems to be quite a noob at this from the questions that you asked. I would advise you to do MORE research online prior to placing an order for the iPhone 3G.

    - My reply to this is : a 100% telco unlocked set is as good as a default factory/Apple unlocked set. Its legal by the way. And, there’s no way it would ever lock back should you decide to update the firmware via iTunes, now or in the future. The only exception is only if the firmware is buggy, but that would warrant a firmware restore, and again, the possibility of the iPhone 3G locking back is virtually non-existence.

    - Therefore, question #4 is pretty much redundant!

Thank you and have a nice day.

  37. Andy December 22nd, 2008 6:50 PM

    Another noob here.

ok, so to my understanding, the iphone you’re selling is 100% telco unlock, so there’s no need to worried about future update via iTunes (getting relock back). But they are not jailbroken, right?…. unless we do it ourselves. Will there be a problem if a jailbroken iphone were updated?

    Thanks
    Andy

  38. Reno December 22nd, 2008 11:00 PM

    Hi Andy,

    Thanks for reading our blog!

Actually, we do not discriminate against
    noobs, I’m was one myself.

    Yes, factory/telco unlocked sets are
capable of all those that you have
    mentioned.

They are not ‘jailbreaked’, but we can
do so upon buyer request. FOC of
    course.

No issues at all when updating firmwares
    for ‘jailbreaked’ factory unlocked sets.
All you need to do after the update would
be to jailbreak again. It’s a 5 minute
    process.

    Cheers

  44. Reza February 17th, 2009 6:30 PM

I think this is the coolest iPhone 3G website I have ever seen. I own iPhone 3G myself which I bought from UK last year. I have to unlock my 16GB iPhone for it to be use here in Malaysia. iPhoneUnlockUK.com is the one who responsible in helping me with this. Even though my white colored iPhone is working perfectly fine on Maxis but I am not happy when it comes to updating with new version from iTunes. I am still at 2.1, I’m not genius enough to make it to 2.2.1 lol

It’s really frustrating when you can’t take a full advantage from your iPhone. I can cope with that company updating solution but it’s not very practical for me. You have to wait for sometimes before they can come out with it, beside i don’t really have time to follow on new

  45. Reza February 17th, 2009 6:42 PM

(cont.) updating solution provided by them even though they will help to do so by sending me a notification on my email. I just hate how fussy the updating process look like. Arghhh! I just want my iPhone to be natural like it meant to be. I would rather have the one sold right here. I wish to have one for myself. You should be thankful because Reno is willing to bring this fully unlock iPhone 3G to Malaysia. Oc course it’s a bit pricey because it’s a very special one. It will be working totally just fine. I can be sure of that.

So any chance for me to trade in with one here? lol (seriously, I am begging you please) or else I have to sale it on ebay.

  46. Reno February 19th, 2009 3:20 PM

    Hi Reza,

First of all, thank you so much for your compliment about the iPhone 3G iWorld site as well as our iWorld Blog. Appreciate the kind words!

Secondly, it is true that Factory Unlocked iPhone 3Gs are completely hassle free, you can update all future firmwares via iTunes and the unit remains unlocked, forever!

Not to mention the ability to use FULL 3G data coverage in Malaysia, NO dropped signals when you are on the highways or switching networks when roaming overseas for example.

Unfortunately, most iPhone 3Gs that are locked and being sold in the market utilizes either (a) sim adapter unlock (such as TurboSIM) which is cumbersome and full of issues to the user concerned later on; or (b) software unlock which is not guaranteed to survive the next firmware update (such as the latest OS2.2.1 released by Apple a week ago).

We do not accept trade-ins of any kind over here at iWorld, so sorry about that my friend. I will give you a preferential discount once you get rid of your present unit on eBay, I promise!

Thank you for dropping by, cheers!

    Thanks – Julian

  60. Julian April 8th, 2009 6:59 AM

And what’s the price? In dollars or Euro.

    - Julian

  61. Julian April 8th, 2009 7:02 AM

Sorry, I found the answers myself.
Don’t you have any 8gb phones left?

    - julian

  62. Reno April 8th, 2009 11:44 AM

    Hi Julian,

Nope, 8GB discontinued. We only deal with 16GB for now. TQ

  65. azhar April 18th, 2009 10:47 AM

    Hi,

I want to jailbreak 3 iphones which i have. Am staying in JB. Can you give me your address, so that i can come over to get it done.

    Thanks.

  66. Reno April 18th, 2009 3:40 PM

    Hi Azhar,

Thanks for dropping by. I believed you called me this morning as well?

Honestly, jailbreaking is a simple process that you could perform yourself following the tutorials over at http://www.iClarified.com.

We are not doing it as a service for the public because there are possible complications that may only arise at a later time, and we do not want to be held liable for it.

    Have a great weekend!

    Best,
    Reno @ iWorld

  67. Mid0u April 27th, 2009 2:07 PM

    Hi, Reno..
May i ask you, is May got any promotion? The iphone 3G still a same price RM2899? TQ

  68. Reno April 28th, 2009 10:59 PM

    Hi Mid0u,

    Thanks for dropping by.

The promo pricing for May remains the same as April – RM2899.

Originally, due to shortages of factory unlocked sets, we wanted to price it at RM2999 for the month of May. However, we decided against it and retained the same promo pricing from April to make it more affordable for the public.

We are left with a few sets for now, we will restock if our vendor still have stock.

    Thanks!

  72. D.Sync June 12th, 2009 1:06 PM

I’m interested with iPhone 3G S as it will be my 1st phone upgrade from Motorola. Not a phone enthusiasm but the capabilities offered by iPhone 3G S is just amazing to me.

Would like to get a first hand update on it once you have the stock Reno. Thanks.

  73. Reno June 12th, 2009 1:32 PM

    Hi D.Sync,

Thanks for dropping by. I believed the iPhone 3GS would be a worthwhile upgrade for you since you’re since you’re a Motorola user at present. You would be floored by the features of the iPhone alone.

Check a lookout on this blog. Or our iWorld website for that matter. We would post first hand info the soonest we receive them, ETA end June.

As long as you have subscribed to this thread, or any of those (pertinent ones) in this blog, you would be updated. Cheers!

    Hey Reno,
I’m interested in getting the new iphone 3gs 32gb model.. I don’t mind black or white…both colours are cool with me…

Would you please send me an email or something to notify me about the availability as well as the prices of the 32 gb model?

  77. Reno June 13th, 2009 2:12 PM

Hi Adam, we’ll release the price later. By end of June. Please read this post if you have not done so.

Self collect would be possible only at our office in Johor. However, due to limited units coming in, we are giving priority to those who place their order online first.

@ Ian : You have to follow the Pre-Order Format here. Alternatively, check the site often. Preferably, within 10 days after the June 19th US launch. Cheers.

    Hi folks,

Just a word of advice, and caution.

This blog is intended for user to comment and feedback to us here at iWorld. It is not for any of the following:

    (a) Trying to post your stuff for sale etc. There are other sites for such a purpose.

    (b) Trying to post some ridiculously priced items which is obviously a scam.

    (c) Trying to challenge us here at iWorld in terms of our iPhone knowledge/know-hows. Trust us, we have been in this eCommerce line for more than 5 years, with a dedicated 3 years to the iPhone alone. We know what we are talking about. Remember, if you have been searching for iPhone and you landed on our site/blog FIRST, then obviously we got it right.

[Warning] To prevent abuse, all comments would be heavily moderated from now on. We may choose to reply back to you personally via email if your comment doesn’t get to see the light of day. TQ

    Team iWorld

  135. Roy August 26th, 2009 8:27 PM

I just bought a 3G 8gb iphone firmware ver.3.0.1. 2 weeks ago. I was told that it was a factory unlocked set. I was charged a fee when the seller installed the games & applications. When I connected my iphone to my laptop, the unit sync.. I tried to install some more application which I pay for from iTunes.. After the apps downloaded and installed, it sync to the phone. I was surpirsed to find out that all the apps which were installed earlier including cydia were lost. The new apps that I just install could not be launch..What actually went wrong? Does it mean that I have to “jailbreak” the phone again to reinstall the apps? Appreciate your advice. Thanks you.

  136. Reno August 27th, 2009 5:39 PM

    Hello Roy,

Thanks for dropping by at iWorld. For obvious reasons, those apps that the seller installed for you are cracked .ipa files, and since they are not paid for, may eventually present a problem for the user later on (it actually depends on the manner of installation that the seller employed in your case).

As part of our company policy here at iWorld, we can only render troubleshooting support to users who bought their iPhone 3GS from us. Therefore, you are advised to revert back to the original seller that you previously bought the unit from for further support. TQ

    Dear All Future iWorld’s Customers,

This brief note is written as an appreciation of the ‘professional services’ rendered to me in buying my iPhone 3Gs (32GB model) from Reno of iWorld.

To date I’ve been dealing with lotsa website purchases over the internet and sincerely to say, this was one of the finest and competent transaction I’ve come across so far. I was so confident to go ahead with this purchase after the first phone call I made whilst oversea knowing that I was dealing with a genuine Malaysian company.

Thanks Reno for your time and commitment shown/proven thru the purchase processes. I am very proud of your business ethic and my thanks too to your team of iWorld even though I’ve not spoken to anyone besides you.

I received my product on schedule and as for now, I am quite happy with the condition/performance of the unit. Everything were in place as reported in your web/blog. Please bear with me if there will be some questions (maybe???) in future as I am just a new owner of this acclaimed phone but with all the dedication shown to me thru our earlier communications, I trust you will be right there for me if I am in trouble with some of the features.

Finally, I won’t hesitate to recommend you and your website to all my other friends who will be looking for an iPhone from now on. Overall Reno, you have just added one more happy customer to your existing list and hoping that all your ‘next in line customers’ will feel the same way I do.

Best of luck and keep up the good services. I will pray for your future success.

    Much appreciated and thanks again.
