iWorld unveils more rumors + Maxis + OMFG!

On May 13th, we gave a shoutout to “Let the leak begin!” We even touched on the fact that there was initial rumor that the new iPhone 3G would not surface at WWDC 2009 this year. Alas, and thank god it’s not true.

Along the way, we spoke about how Microsoft would be coming out with the Pink! Phone. Nice, but no thanks.

The iPhone Chromatic Series surfaced after that, and eventually became a hit phenomenon online, although it could be a little suspect *ahem*. On May 16th, we gave you The Power of 3. Better check this out if you have not. Surely you wouldn’t want to be left behind this time round.

On May 22nd, we were so sure that we posted a prophetic comment that the next iPhone would rule at gaming. And possibly on par this time round with the DSI and PSP. The secret? Updated hardware, processor and even a tweak or an additional 100(!) features for the all new iPhone 3G 2009.

Then, we gave you the complete lowdown of the entire specsheet of the iPhone 3G 2009 to debut this year. And yes, possibly by July 17th, 2009. I see PRE-ORDERS coming in the horizon, exactly the way we did it LAST YEAR.

This week, we shall let some of the photos do the talking. They are obviously unedited other than us here at iWorld adding some of our “signature” graphical presentation to it.

First of all, take a look at T-Mobile Austria ‘unveiling’ the iPhone 3G (32GB) – obviously a non-existent model – at least for now. Talk about a case of technological wardrobe malfunction there.

Then, we digged up some more shots of the supposedly chromatic iPhone 3G series rumored to debut within the next month or so.

Additional Rumor concerning Maxis
It was also widely reported online (hey, just do a Google search, c’mon!) that Maxis’ iPhone 3G exclusivity contract with Apple would be ending soon. As early as July this year.

But then again, for the more astute readers out there, you would have noticed that the telco company  has recently (about a week ago) took up a full page advertisement in the newspaper (The Star) seeking candidates for the position of iPhone 3G Ambassador for a duration of a one (1) year contract.

Why would they do that if their partnership with Apple is coming to an end?
Unless it’s because that either (a) a brand new iPhone 3G is imminent, or (b) the fact that their exclusivity ends and Celcom would be joining in the fray…so obviously Maxis would need better English & tech savvy personnel (they actually advertised for graduates, ok) to better hard sell their niche product + ripoff contract as well.

And just like all the other telcos out there right now, everyone is getting rid of their existing old stock of the iPhone 3G. To welcome in the new model July 17th, 2009…

Maxis is of course a little disadvantaged due to the fact that they joined the iPhone 3G family a little late (20th March, 2009) this year. So, the best way to clear off the existing stock would be through their latest plan: Hotlink plan for prepaid users.

As for us here at iWorld, rest assured, we have a few surprises up our sleeve. We will be releasing some additional info, availability & pricing for the new model. Right now, as usual, we have to keep our mouth shut. Cheerios for now!
